Welcome to St. Peter's Catholic Community Music Ministry. My name is Valerie and I would like to take you on a little tour of our ministry. Let's start with our weekend masses. We have 3 English masses and 2 Spanish masses every weekend. 4:30pm on Saturday is a traditional English mass with the organ and the 6:00pm mass is in Spanish. Sunday morning we start with the 7:30 mass which is in English with another more traditional group with the piano. 9am is in Spanish. The 11:00 mass is very contemporary with groups with guitars, pianos, flutes, drums and various other instruments when available. All Spanish masses are done by guitar groups that also have keyboard, bass, drums and other instruments. All of these masses have very talented cantors but we are always looking for the next “American Idol” singers that would like to use their gift to praise the Lord.

Next let me tell you about our Festival Choir. This is a group of people that don't have the time for a weekly or bi-weekly commitment so they join the Festival Choir. This choir sings twice a year only. We sing at the 10pm Christmas Eve mass which is in English and the Easter Vigil mass which is bilingual. All are welcome to join this choir. You only need to have a passion for singing and it would be good if you can carry a tune. You do not need to read music to join this choir.

There are also various other liturgies during the year that many of our music ministers participate in such as the Advent and Lenten Penance Services, Friday night multi-lingual prayer around the cross during Lent, various retreats, special masses and Holy Days of Obligation.

We are always looking for talented musicians and singers and would love to talk with you if you are feeling the nudge to use your time and talent in this ministry. Our goal is to "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord" and to help our brothers and sisters in Christ experience the fullness of worship in song whenever we gather as a community.
